Together Academy (TA) will provide people with Down syndrome
specialised certified training, on the job experience, future work
placements and a critical social and support network.
Together Academy will transform the employment prospects and lives of
young adults with Down syndrome in Ireland. Together Training Academy
is operating under the funding stream of a local training initiative.
Our students will progress to their Major award in Employability
Skills with a Culinary element. They will spend time as part of their
work experience in the Together Cafe where they will put in to
practice their learning.
Together Academy is now seeking applications from suitably qualified
individuals for two positions:
PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATOR
this role will take the lead on delivering the QQI Level 3 modules
within Together Academy.
PROGRAMME ASSISTANT CO-ORDINATOR
This role will assist in the delivery of the programme in conjunction
with the co-ordinator.
These positions are 1 year fixed term contracts subject to funding.
Applicants who do not demonstrate significant and attested skills and
experience in the design, development, delivery and submission of
FETAC accredited training in at least five of the following areas will
not be shortlisted.

In addition, the successful candidate/s will have demonstrated
(through the application form and at interview) a significant
understanding of the learning style of young adults with Down
syndrome, and be confident, creative and optimistic to support
Together students. Together Academy?s integrated approach will
support these young adults to realise their potential.We are looking
for two skilled, motivated and qualified individuals to work in
partnership with our Team. Reporting to our Programme Director, the
successful candidates will:
* Assist in designing our yearly Project Plan (which is submitted
each year to the ETB for approval)
* Work with the Director and programme funders to develop a
programme which continues to meet the specific needs of the young
adults
* Provide FETAC accredited training level 3.
* Provide ongoing and intensive support to trainees, sometimes on a
one to one basis
* Produce all monitoring ? programme and financial ?
reports/documentation required by the Accrediting Bodies, Board,
Director and funders and to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the
Programme.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATES MUST:
* A strong passion for and interest in working with adults with Down
syndrome.
* A belief that with the right supports people with additional needs
can succeed.
IN ADDITION THE IDEAL CANDIDATES SHOULD DEMONSTRATE:
* A proven track record in designing, developing, delivering and
submitting FETAC accredited training in the areas outlined above.
* An accredited ?Train the Trainer? qualification;
* Direct experience or experience that is transferable and relevant
to working with adults with Down syndrome.
* Excellent report writing and programme design skills and
development and implementation of same
* A positive communication style along with an enthusiastic can do
attitude.
